Conference Sessions
Stilling and cleansing body, breath and mind in dynamic meditation with YogaSynergy
Friday, 17 April / 3.30pm-5.00pm
In this presentation, Simon Borg-Olivier, a research scientist and physiotherapist who has practiced yoga for 40 years, describes how to increase your fitness and be able to do more while your heart and lungs work less. YogaSynergy is traditional hatha yoga with an understanding from exercise-based physiotherapy that can make your whole body function in the same way that the heart does. This allows you to do strenuous activities while remaining calm and relaxed. With concentration that eventually leads to the meditative state you can use precise movements and postures to create  regions of compression and expansion within the body. Then using the same pumping principle the heart uses, the whole body can circulate and pump blood while the heart itself can stay calm.

Energising, Strengthening and Calming the Body with YogaSynergy
Saturday, 18 April / 2.00pm-3.30pm
In this presentation, Yoga Master Simon Borg-Olivier describes ways to energise and strengthen the body while remaining calm with YogaSynergy. Simon explains how it is possible to use a special type of core stabilisation for the whole body that can stabilise and nourish your joints and muscles, prevent and heal injuries, and relieve physical pain. This practice allows you to remain calm by using diaphragmatic breathing into an abdomen firmed through posture. Simon demonstrates simple and advanced YogaSynergy techniques that help improve the digestion of food, absorption of nutrients, elimination of waste and stored toxins, and the  health of the reproductive system.
