Biography
Mark Breadner has been
practicing yoga for over thirty-five years, after being
introduced by his mother, a yoga teacher. The roots of
Mark’s teachings come from a background working in
the field of Somatic Psychotherapy, studying and
practicing many of the more popular styles of yoga and
in-depth studies of Tibetan Buddhism. He has taught yoga
for 20 years and has devoted the last decade to training
yoga teachers, through the Heart of Yoga Association,
Nature Care College and now BodyMindLife Yoga.
Mark’s extensive work in corrective exercise
therapy and injury rehabilitation, combined with
qualifications in Exercise Kinesiology has led him to
work and travel regularly with elite athletes such as Ian
Thorpe, members of the Olympic Swimming Team, pro-surfer
Phil MacDonald and members of the Rip Curl pro-surf team.
His years of work and study in complementary Eastern and
Western systems of health have led Mark to develop a
holistic system of healing called “The Five Pillars
of Health and Wellbeing”.

Beyond Asana - The Next Steps...
Friday, 17 April 2009 1.30pm-3.00pm
Most yoga teachers focus on and easily become proficient
in teaching asana. But asana is only a small part
of the whole yogic landscape. Learn how to take
your students further by understanding yoga's broader
goals and the bigger picture. This can best be done
by working with your students using the tools of
Yoga Therapy. In this lecture, Mark Breadner teaches a
practical, everyday approach to understanding the mind
and consciousness, which will enable yoga teachers to be
more effective in serving their students and truly make a
difference in people's lives.
