Biography
Practicing yoga from age 25,
Melanie swapped a corporate life in the UK for a 6 month
stay in India where she took a Hatha Yoga teacher
training course with Sivananda Ashram in Kerala which she
feels “changed (her) life forever”. With a
background in dance, massage and healing, yoga felt like
a natural step for Melanie – one that led to
amazing personal experiences from yoga/meditation and
metaphysics which in turn awakened the “teacher
within”. The desire to share this knowledge has
found her teaching at Bodymindlife and Powerliving
in the style of Baron Baptiste, Shiva Rae’s and
Paul Grilley.

Yin
Yoga: Insights into a Practice of Rejuvenation and
Restoration
Saturday, 18 April /
4.00pm-5.30pm
Yin Yoga is a beautiful
compliment to your regular, more dynamic, asana practice.
It teaches you to rest down, come back to your centre,
and create “space between” in your body, mind
and reactions. It also works to unlock hidden natural
flexibility in your connective tissues and joint
movement. While it is important for us to feel strong
physically and mentally through muscle strength, in order
to feel graceful, light and at ease as we move in our
bodies it is also important for our connective tissue and
joints to be flexible. Come along to explore a new way to
connect, to stretch your body and mind, and walk away
feeling both lighter and deeply grounded.
